A travelers journey

I stopped by a boutique this April afternoon, having found Ten thousand villages in one small downtown space.
Among the unique offerings were hand crafted leather bound journals inlaid with pictures and quotes.

As my eyes fell on the words “and miles to go before I sleep,” my inner monologue said “these woods are lovely dark and deep, as my lips mouthed silently “but I have promises to keep.” The poem did not come to me in stanzas, but all at once.

Robert Frost wrote “Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening” about a traveler’s journey through woods that were not his own.

I find myself a traveler today. I had stopped at a place in my career that was wonderful to take in. A place that was lovely. A place that made me pause and appreciate where I was in the moment. A place that also reminded me that I have not yet reached my destination and need to continue my journey forward. It seemed appropriate to read those words today.

I have promises to myself to keep.
And miles to go before I sleep.
And miles to go before I sleep.

May you all have safe travels on your journey forward.
